We’re a friendly and lively bunch of local diving enthusiasts from the North East of England.
We have an open invitation for all to come and visit us at our facilities in Dunston Leisure Centre, North Tyneside.
We welcome everyone from all disciplines, whether absolute beginner or experienced diver, why not come along on a pool night to meet the club or experience a Try Dive?
We offer Try Drives to all who wish to try the “scuba experience”.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve dived before or not, why not come and give it a go with our friendly instructors. We can cater for small groups as well as individuals.
We ask for a £10 donation per person, towards the up keep of the equipment and air you will use during your Try Dive.
Fell Divers are a non commercial association and all our instructors give their time for free. No charge is made for the Try Dive Training.
All Try Dive donations are refunded against your annual membership fees if you subsequently become a member.

Every time you dive, you hope you’ll see something new – some new species. Sometimes the ocean gives you a gift, sometimes it doesn’t.
My favourite thing to do on this planet is to scuba dive.
When the surface is wavy, dive deeper for quieter waters.
One time on a dive, I wound up drifting up in darkness surrounded by billions of photoluminescent creatures. It was a religious experience, one only a poet could do justice to.
From birth, man carries the weight of gravity on his shoulders. He is bolted to earth. But man has only to sink beneath the surface and he is free.
I can mention many moments that were unforgettable and revelatory. But the most revelatory three minutes was the first time I put on scuba gear and dived on to the Coral Reef. It’s just the unbelievable fact that you can move in three dimentions.
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realise that you’ve been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside of the tent.
Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep, and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience, that shall explain and overlook the old.
